Tagged by Stephanie!

1. Why my last relationship ended:  Eventually my patience ran out, and I needed to separate myself from the stressor that he had become... it was a shame.

2. Favorite band:  Possibly Muse,  but as of late I've been on a major Elbow kick.

3. Who I like and why I like him/her:  I'm fortunate enough to like most of the people in my life right now, though I have two friends that I'm closer to than most others.  One, because he is my most faithful and patient and supportive and fun and natural friend, as well as my first college friend, and Two, because he's all around amazing and multi-talented and full of God's love.

4. Hardest thing I've ever been through:  On an emotional level, my suicidal period in high school.  Physically, when I had a kidney stone.

5. My best friend: Cody (or One from above)

6. My favorite movie:  Déjà Vu, Oceans movies, Bourne movies, Up, The Dark Knight, and more...

7. Sexual orientation:  Straight.

8. Do I smoke/drink?  Nope, and I don't intend to any time in the future.

9. Do I have any tattoos or piercings?  Just pierced ears.

10. What I want to be when I get older:  A productive and happy member of society.

11. Relationship with my parents:  Complicated… practically raised my alcoholic mom these last couple years, my dad's bipolar but thinks he's perfect… I love my mom, I really do.  It's just hard to handle them sometimes.

12. One of my insecurities:  Feelings in general.  Because of my parents I've learned to emotionally detach myself from negative emotions, and only allow myself to feel when it is rational and productive to do so… which makes romantic love kind of hard for me (though love in general, for some reason, is easy).

13. Virgin?  Yes.

14. Favorite place to shop:  Heh.  Where I'd like to shop and where I actually shop are totally different places.

15. My eye color:  Hazel

16. Why I hate school (or work):  I don't… I love it.

17. Relationship status as of right now:  Eh.   Single.  Sort of.

18. Favorite song of the moment:  One Day Like This by Elbow <3

19. A random fact about myself:  I'm taking abnormal psych in the fall :).

20. An age I get mistaken for:  When I was a senior in high school, I sometimes got taken for a senior in college, but at that same age I got handed a kiddy menu once… so it depends entirely on what I'm wearing.

21. Where I want to be right now:  My college, with the people I love.

22. Last time I cried:  May 7th (because I really miss someone who doesn't miss me… it's confusing), and before that, April 22 (my kidney stone).  Before those two, it's been a while, I think...

23. Concerts I've been to:  None worth mentioning… my dream concert is Muse though.

24. What would you do if...: I really don't understand this question at all--I second that Steph.

25. Do you want to go to college?  Haha, I want to STAY in college!

26. What's your favorite body part?  On myself?  Probably my eyes.

27. What's your most embarrassing moment?  Confusing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution -.-.

28. What's your favorite flower?  Passion flower, for sure.

29. What's the shortest a person could be before you just wouldn't date them?  Don't have a limit.

30. How are you?  Sick at the moment, actually.

I tag anyone who wants to do it :).  I'll give you guys a proper update later!

A Music Lovers' Tag

    Scroll no further!

This wonderful tag came from Bleah, and has 1 rule: List ten musical artists below, before reading the questions. If you read the questions it won't just ruin it for the readers, but for yourself too! Well, here I go...

    1. Muse
    2. Queen
    3. Pink
    4. Flyleaf
    5. Emily Osment
    6. Cage the Elephant
    7. Florence and the Machine
    8. Skillet
    9. Owl City
    10. And...Foreigner

what was the first song that you ever heard by number six?

Probably Ain't No Rest for the Wicked :).

what is your favorite song by number eight?

Oh wow… that is way too hard. Right now... Awake and Alive? Or maybe Fingernails (that's an older fav)! Yeah, Fingernails is great :).

what kind of impact has number one had on your life?

a;lsdkfjlaksjdf. Love. Love love love. I fell in love with number 1. Muse on my mp3 player helped me survive the insane drives with my dad during 10&11th grades. Beyond that, their songs are incredibly beautiful and really speak to my soul… they're really empowering!

    "And how can we win,
    When fools can be kings,
    Don't waste your time,
    Or time will waste you,..

No one's gonna take me alive,
The time has come to make things right,
You and I must fight for our rights,
You and I must fight to survive,"-Knights of Cydonia

And the love songs are the strongest most beautiful and encouraging love songs I've heard... here is part of Invincible:

    "Follow through
    Make your dreams come true
    Don't give up the fight
    You will be alright
'Cause there's no one like you in the universe

    Don't be afraid
    What your mind conceives
    You should make a stand
Stand up for what you believe
    And tonight
    We can truly say
    Together we're invincible"

what is your favorite lyric by number five?

"Little short skirt with a big attitude
She wants to be a model, wants to be on the tube
Yeah, it's one thing or another
    She's trouble trouble
    Watch out, if you're near
She could bring you to tears
She's got two boyfriends and three wannabe's
They follow her around like she's Aphrodite
She's number one rated but she's already jaded
She's following the trends in her Mercedes Benz
Everyone wants to know her name
Walking down the hall, she's every guy's dream

    I hate the homecoming queen
I'm pretty damn sure she can't stand me
She thinks she's on the cover of a magazine
I hate the homecoming queen tonight, that's right" I Hate the Homecoming Queen-Emily Osment

how many times have you seen number four live in concert?

    Never :/

what is your favourite song by number seven?

Ooh… Rabbit Heart, probably, but Kiss With a Fist gets stuck in my head most... I also love Cosmic Love (and pretty much Lungs in entirety), all thanks to Leanna :).

is there any song by number three that makes you sad?

I really love Family Portrait and Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self, because I can relate to them, and they are both on the sad side(Conversations made me cry the first time I really listened to it). I highly recommend listening to them, but if you don't want to, here are SOME of the lyrics (I majorly chopped up Family Portrait to get in certain parts without quoting the whole song):

    "Mama please stop cryin'
    I can't stand the sound
    Your pain is painful
    And it's tearin' me down
    I hear glasses breakin'
As I sit up in my bed
I told Dad you didn't mean
    Those nasty things you said
    You fight about money
    'Bout me and my brother
And this I come home to
    This is my shelter

It ain't easy, growin' up in World War III
Never knowin' what love could be
You'll see, I don't want love to destroy me
Like it has done my family

    Can we work it out?
    Can we be a family?
    I promise I'll be better
    Mommy, I'll do anything
    Daddy, please don't leave

    Daddy please stop yelling
    I can't stand the sound
    Make Mama stop cryin'
    'Cause I need you around

    I ran away today
Ran from the noise, ran away
Don't wanna go back to that place
But don't have no choice, no way

    In our family portrait
    We look pretty happy
    Let's play pretend
Act like it goes naturally" -Family Portrait

    "You're angry
    I know this
    The world couldn't care less
    You're lonely
    I feel this
And you wish you were the best
    No teachers
    Or guidance
    And you always walk alone
    You're crying
    At night when
    Nobody else is home

Come over here and let me hold your hand and hug you darling
I promise you that it won't always feel this bad
There are so many things I want to say to you
You're the girl I used to be
You little heartbroken thirteen year old me"-Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self

what is your favourite song by number nine?

Fireflies and Saltwater Room are close, with Fireflies winning out (because of the meaning it holds for me-not all Owl City songs mean that much to me, they're just fun listening, but Fireflies made me cry at night a couple times… you probably won't get that, but try and look up different meanings and see what you think about it yourself-I'm in favor of the memories theory).

how did you first discover number two?

It's QUEEN! Like, I was born! Haha, my mom has always had awesome taste in music, and I learned the great artists pretty young. Always been a Queen fan, always will be :).

how did you first discover number three?

I honestly don't know… Stupid Girls* is the song that made me pay attention and want all of her music, which I did wind up with. She's just a really real talent, you know?

what is your favorite song by number four?

Breathe Today was my old favorite, but right now I think it is Tiny Heart.

is there a song by number eight that makes you sad? After re-listening to the two Pink songs listed above, I've had enough sad music. I might fill this back in later, but don't feel like thinking about it now.

how many times have you seen number six live?

    I haven't.

what is your favorite song by number one?

Wow that's hard… Unnatural Selection is my main ringtone, because I LOVE it, but Uprising, Resistance, Assassin, Starlight, and New Born are all loves too. I love everything by them (except Take a Bow, which is just a little too negative for my taste, but they still rock it).

how did you become a fan of number ten?

Again, I was raised by a woman who loves music :). She introduced me to Foreigner, and Queen, and Styx, and ELO, and other awesome groups :).

I tag the 41 awesome people who follow my blog. Thank you Jane Doe for following! Please comment if you choose to do it-I'd love to see what you guys wind up with!

Blog Party for Inspire!

There is a party going on with Farmgirl Writes, Living on Literary Lane, and Inspire! The goal is to get Stella more followers over at Inspire, and she is having a huge giveaway to do it!

If you go over and choose to follow, then answer the tag and link up, you are entered to win quite a variety of gifts. Stella's blog is lovely, and she also has two other design blogs, if you want to check those out :).

1. If you had to choose between living on a desert island or tropical rainforest for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
I'd have to go with tropical rainforest… even though I would hate the mosquitoes and humidity, I'd probably live longer than if I was left without water in the heat… actually, I'd probably die in EITHER environment! So… neither? LOL...
2. What is your favorite music CD right now?
At the moment, I'm revisiting an old favorite-Unbreakable, by Fireflight-which I hadn't listened to in a while until just a few nights ago. I love the lyrics to those songs… might have to post on a couple of them sometime.
3. If you were given the choice between wildflowers or roses - which would you pick?
It depends on the occasion… I don't really know, I mean, if someone was sweet enough to get me flowers I'm not sure I'd care what kind they were!
4. How much do you like notebooks? Is it mild, or are you absolutely obsessed with them?
Used to be obsessed, but now I just mildly like them… it is because I'm not writing as much, unfortunately!
5. What is your biggest goal this winter?
Get flipping caught up with my homework, enjoy my birthday, clean my room, enjoy Christmas, get my Google Reader EMPTY and deal with my 60 unread emails, try to lay down the burdens I have placed upon myself, talk to my friends as much as possible, and start posting regularly! And oh yeah, MORE college applications!
6. If you could change your hair however you wanted, what would you do?
FUN question. Shorter, definitely, and with the front right section dark, dark purple (demi-permanent, of course-I wouldn’t want permanent, just for fun).
7. Do you think Harry Potter is bad?
Allow me to quote Dumbledore on this one, "It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our choices.". My mother was hesitant because the series is dark-there is definitely a dose of evil, and the series involves wizardry. But Harry Potter is NOT bad. The fact of the matter is, there is evil everywhere, right outside our own front doors. What is important about the series is that the main characters fight for justice and good and hope no matter what-in the face of the worst terrors their world holds they stick together and value friendship and love above all else. Yes, those characters have powers that we do not, but it isn't the magic that is important-it is the choices that those characters make.
8. Why do you think pink is a girls' color?
Because society is brutal and demands macho-ness from it's male members, or they are mocked into questioning their manliness. At least, that is how it was when I was little, but society is constantly changing form like a boggart so I can't swear to you now :).
9. Would you be up to singing a solo in front of a thousand people?
After a couple years of vocal lessons, SURE! XD
10. What colors look best on you?
Eggplant is the best, and then probably olive… though I wear a lot of black. I have hazel eyes, and shades of purple and green really make them pop.
11. If you had a different name, what would it be?
I… don't know. I AM Elizabeth. My first name just seems an inseparable part of my identity at this point… I guess after almost 18 years, I'm used to it!
12. Do you like...
boots or sneakers?
My two favorite pairs of shoes are my converse and my black boots. I refuse to decide!!!
flats or heels?
Heels-definitely. I'm actually more comfortable in them, because I have really high arches and they tend to support my feet better.
books or movies?
Both.
purple or pink?
Purple, always purple.
long hair or short hair?
Depends on the person's head.
a best friend or a group of friends?
I have a very small group of best friends, which is pretty awesome ^_^.
ice cream or cake?
"Ice cream... always has been, always will be"-I agree with Amanda 100%
plaid or polka dots?
Plaid… I've always disliked wearing dots… I don’t know why, but I do :).

If you actually read this-wow! Three tags in a row and you're still reading? You're too kind :). I love you guys, and will begin posting normally asap :). Thanks for everything,

Awarded by Bleah!

The Versatile Blogger Award!

The Rules:

1. Thank and link back to who gave you the award.
Thanks Bleah :D!

2. Share 7 things about yourself.
1. On the 18th I'll be 18 years old.
2. Music is one of the things that has helped me make it to 18, and some of my favorite bands are Muse, The Cranberries, Queen, Skillet, Flyleaf, Paramore, and I just realized you can see a longer list of my favorite music on my profile, so this list isn't necessary… whoops.
3. I absolutely love to read, and read very quickly when I actually sit down and do it, but I haven't read much at all in the past couple months (which is tragic, for me).
4. When I go to college, I hope to learn more about biochemistry and biochemical engineering, and see if that is a career path I'm passionate about.
5. Respect, from me, must always be earned and be mutual. I don't respect someone because of their station-that someone is going to have to earn it, and treat me with some form of respect as well, or they can forget about it.
6. I have two geckos, one cat, and we just got a puppy (which is supposed to be my mom's). The geckos are Spaz and Greco, my lovely cat is named Angel (which is appropriate, she is so sweet), and the puppy is named Peanut.
7. And… I'm not sure what else to say? Lol, there we go: I stink at just talking about myself without some kind of prompt or springboard or direct question or something.

3.Pass it along to 7 bloggers who have recently commented on your blog. (I'm pulling up my comments list, and going from the most recent down-but if you've commented on ANY of my posts, consider yourself a recipient, okay? I appreciate you all equally!)
1. Shaynie
2. Antonia
3. Jinnyd
4. Leanna
5. Bleah already has it, because she gave it to me! :D lol
5. Camellia Day
6. Maximillian
7. Raja-Man

4. Leave the recipients a comment, telling them about the award. I'll try to leave a comment for you all, but the medicine I'm on right now is making me freakishly sleepy and dizzy(it just kicked in), so I'll do what I can. Thankfully, you all follow, so you can prolly see it without being told :). Talk to you all later, thanks for reading,

"You're an Enigma, Wrapped in a Mystery..." (Music Tag from Antonia and Bleah!)

I got tagged with the same tag twice! Once by Bleah, from With Love and Kisses, and then by Antonia from Outside Into Life and Inside the Movies! Here are the rules:

1. Put your iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc. on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.
4. Tag 20 friends.
5. Everyone tagged has to do the same thing.
6. Have Fun!
Because this tag is so long, I'm going to copy Antonia's brilliant idea of making the funny/interesting answers a different color, and I'm going with purple because it is easy to read and... purple and black is my favorite color combo :D. I'm also linking to the ones I really love, so if you check them out let me know what you think!

I actually clicked my name to see if I was the Elizabeth you were talking about, not expecting to be, and was really pleasantly surprised to see my profile come up! I might have let out a tiny squeal, actually… XD. And thanks Antonia for tagging me as well!)

WHAT WILL YOU NAME THIS NOTE?
"Energy" - Skillet \m/

Thanks Antonia and Bleah!

I tag:
Everyone reading this! You're supposed to tag 20 people, and though I have 27 followers, I'm guessing you're not ALL reading it, so everyone who is-consider yourself tagged! Tell me in a comment if you choose to do it :D. I'd love to see your answers!

P.S. I own three Muse albums, and didn't get a single Muse answer! I thought the odds were in my favor, but apparently they weren't... rather disappointing. For those of you who do it, may the odds be ever in YOUR favor! (Capitol accent ;) ).

Tagged by Ayla!

The rules are simple-list 7 likes, 8 hates, and 1 love, in that order. My likes are so strong they are kind of loves… but I can only have one love, so consider these likes almost loves, okay? ;).

I like staring at the moon late at night and dreaming with my eyes open.
I like music-it keeps me moving.
I like to ride around with my mom or sister, bickering and laughing and blasting music and not having a care in the world.
I like shoes-including stilettos and converse (as long as there isn't a pointy toe. I just can't stand pointy toed shoes… at least not on my feet… lol)

I like the feeling of accomplishment that comes with FINISHING a difficult task.
I like my customers at work! They make the job worth doing, and my regulars bring a genuine smile to my face when they walk through that door.
I like knowing that I have select people I can completely trust, and that if I need a shoulder to cry on it will be there.

I hate self-righteousness and hypocrisy.
I hate the way that girls feel about and treat themselves today, because of society's ridiculous and extreme concepts of beauty and worth. Wearing inch-thick eyeliner isn't beautiful or natural, and neither is being nothing but skin and bones. Sleeping with a bunch of guys doesn't make you more desirable-it makes you someone who finds her worth in others, and has none on her own. Ladies, we're worth more than that!
I hate drama.
I hate when people bash something JUST because it is freakishly popular (like haters of Twilight or Justin Bieber). If you've actually read/listened/given it a shot, and don't like it, fine. But that doesn't mean you should HATE it, or its followers.
I hate depression. When I don't want to live, when my heart goes numb because all I feel is pain, when I forget I'm not alone...and I hate that others feel the same way.
I hate it when people talk trash behind your back but won't say it to your face.
I hate it when someone decides to be insulted, when no insult was intended.
I hate how so many people stick themselves inside of boxes, how they desperately cling to labels in order to have some form of identity. Make up your own mind about what you like, don't let others' expectations define you.

I love LOVE. Heavenly, motherly, fatherly, brotherly, sisterly, friendly, romantic, it doesn't matter! Love is a beautiful and powerful thing. If people would learn to stop hating so much, and just show each other a little honest love and compassion and sympathy, the world would be a less hideous such a beautiful place. Love changes everything.

Two Tags!

It's taggin' time! Weeks and weeks ago Eldarwen did a tag, and I asked if I could do it, then dropped off the face of the blogosphere and didn't publish my answers. Then, just a bit ago, Kendra tagged me with the same tag :). The rules are simple: answer the 8 questions the person before you asked, then make up 8 of your own and the people you tag have to answer yours. I'm answering both sets of questions, but just making one ;). First up, the questions from Eldarwen:

{one}-- Who is your role model/hero? Why? I would have to say my mom, and it is because she is the single most selfless person I have ever met-she has sacrificed everything for my future, and I fear that I would never have the courage to do that for someone else.
{two}-- What would you say is your God given talent? That is such a hard question! I love the arts, in all forms, quite passionately, but I'm not much of an artist. I know that I have been blessed with a mind, a capacity and passion for learning, and that logical thinking is my strong suit :).
{three}-- If it were up to you, what would you do with the rest of your life? Learn about everything I can, including God, and use that knowledge to make a difference. Whether I pursue biomedical engineering or choose to become a surgeon or chemist or lawyer, as long as I am learning and making a difference and doing something I love, I will be content.
{four}-- If someone told you they had the ability to let you foresee your future, would you wanna do it? Why or why not? NO. I have a tendency to be paranoid, so if I saw something good I'd constantly worry about 'messing it up', and if I saw something bad I'd just get depressed… I prefer the unknown world of possibilities :D.
{five}-- What is one of your pet peeves? When people say "for all intensive purposes", when they mean "for all intents and purposes". GAH!!!! and again, GAH!!!!
{six}-- What is one of your guilty pleasures? Real Housewives of New York, on Bravo (I'm totally gonna blame my mom here-it is our time to hang out and watch tv together, so I'm just there for her…. Lol)
{seven}-- If your mom gave you a choice between doing school, or chores, which would you choose? Hard question! I like feeling productive, so as long as I was completely off the hook for the other task… I don't have much of a preference.
{eight}-- What is the most daring thing you've ever done? I can't tell you, or I'd have to kill you ;).

Kendra's questions!:

1. What was your first word? I don't know, and don't have a parent around to ask (bummer!)
2. What are two facts about you that seem to contradict each other? I am logical and analytical, but also a hopeless-poetry-and-art-and-moon-loving romantic.
3. If you could play any instrument, what would it be? ELECTRIC GUITAR- my dream which may never come true (bursts into tears)
4. Do you know more than one language? If you do, what is it? If you don't, what language would you like to learn? I'm taking Spanish, but don't really KNOW it, and that is the language I'd really like to learn.
5. Do you like to travel? Yes, most definitely! (though I don't travel often)
6. Are you an open person? Not really, but I’m learning to be (thanks to you, Henry ;) )
7. What is your favorite season? I like the 'in-between' seasons, so either Spring or Fall… maybe Fall… but Summer is great too, and I do like certain parts of Winter… they each have different meaning to me :).
8.8. In ten years, where do you see yourself? Eating a slice of pizza while watching a movie with my best friend, completely ignoring the homework I should probably be doing, and not thinking about the fact I have to go to work the next day at a medical research facility… hey, I can dream, right?

And HERE are my questions, decidedly lighthearted:
1. If you could meet anyone currently living, who would you pick? Why?
2. What is your favorite band? Why?
3. What is your least favorite book? Why?
4. If you saw someone who was being rude and ugly and hateful, then they dropped their wallet as they walked off, what would you do?
5. What do you get in trouble for most?
6. Pets, what kind(s) if any, name(s), age(s), the whole deal:
7. If, in the future, you were happily married and had a son and daughter, what would their names be? Any particular reason?
8. If there was one question you'd love to be asked, ask yourself it here, then answer it: ____________________________?

Tagged by Bleah!

Bleah Briann from With Love and Kisses tagged all Elizabeths, and since Elizabeth is my name I considered myself tagged! :D.

1. What are your favorite songs of all time?
Since it says 'of all time', I'm picking the songs that have been my favorites for a long time and still are, not my 'favorites at the moment': I Want to Break Free-Queen, Zombie-The Cranberries, Breathe Today-Flyleaf, Separate Ways-Journey, Runaway-Bon Jovi, Girl on the Moon-Foreigner

2. Have you found something you really want?
I really want a new camera… not sure what it means by 'found' though.

3. What's the funniest fact about you?
I'm not a factually funny person, I don't think… seriously can't think of anything good. I can't really burp, I tend to inhale instead, so I 'backwards burp', but that is more annoying than funny (then again, people tend to burst out laughing and say "what was THAT?!?!!" when it happens, so maybe it just sounds funny... I'll ask my friend later for a better fact.

4. Do you ever feel jealousy with your BFF, and why is that?
Yes, but not in a green eyed monster way. I envy his faith and his church family, the opportunities to spend time with his friends… that kind of stuff, but I'm more happy about it, for him, than bitter… not sure if that makes sense, but I know it's true :).

5. What was the first magazine you had and you liked so much?
I don't do magazines.

6. If you win a prize to have $100 millions, what will you buy?
A house for my mom, somewhere near whichever college I pick. A used car that has working air conditioning and, well, works in general. A new DSLR camera. I'd pay for my tuition and school books. Some other various things for my mom, and for someone else who'd probably need some help. Something special for my best friend… it'd take some serious thought, and I wouldn't post it anyway :). A book case, and my favorite books which I don't own (including the PJ and HP series). Whatever did not get spent on important things, I'd see what was worth investing in.

7. What was your craziest dream? (dream in your sleep)
It started off with me trying to fit into this safe like thing built into the brick wall of my house while playing hide and seek outside, and the trees were purple and dark. Some of the trees were mutated and had werewolf genes, and had these strange mossy growths that grew like stalagmites straight in the air. A guy I haven't seen in ages told me that guys secretly like their butts hit, while he walked by with his girlfriend (who I don't know). I could not fit inside the safe, and was laughing really hard because apparently 'I tried this last time! Duh!'.

At some point my best friend and his family pulled up in the driveway in a tiny-old-beat-up-clown-car and asked if I'd like a ride to the fair, but they were in a hurry, and I said yes but that I wanted one second to put on capris under my dress (which I was suddenly wearing). Oh, and the colors went back to normal and sunny instead of cartoon Halloween. I ran inside and couldn't find my closet, I was running up the staircases in my rather pink mansion of a room (all imaginary, and I don't know why PINK… ugh), then I stopped to listen for -girl I haven't seen in ages- crying. I followed the sound up a different staircase to my closet, where she was crying because a zipper wasn't working in a pale blue shiny dress she was apparently taking. I grabbed some capris and went to put them on, when I saw that I was already wearing a pair! I ran out of my room, which took an eternity within itself, and got in the car. And after that it is kind of a blur, but I remember I really really had to go to the bathroom but held it because I didn't want to get left behind. This was just one night ago…. Very strange and stressful! And funny (to me, especially because people were so OOC)

8. Why did you make a blog?
I followed several I loved, and wanted to do reviews of music and talk about what I believe… my blog has gotten a bit distracted lately, since it is an extension of myself and I'm pretty distracted right now, but I hope to refocus soon.

Now I'll tag 8 people (since there are 8 questions)...

8 Things I've Learned This Year...

-Patience. I tend to have a sharp tongue and little patience with anyone. Getting told I'm a moron and cussed out and asked what rock I crawled out from under because I dared to ask a woman "Would you like this sub toasted?" while at work… I didn't know I could stand there and smile -while she insulted my every breath for ten minutes. YAY ME 0.0
-That FTW means "For the win!". I thought it meant something else entirely until… two days ago? NICE TO KNOW.
-I've got a support team I didn't expect. I was so worried about making it through the college application process alone, but unexpected allies, women I consider friends who were once my teachers, have leapt to my aid. It warms my heart to know that they care that much about my future… and it makes me emotional, and grateful and uplifted… hard to explain :).
-Not eating for a day because you are lazy and don't feel like it is stupid. You will feel sick and weak. Trust me.
-Blogging isn't near as intimidating as I thought it would be (the many months I put off starting it!).
-That I might actually not be a terrible artist… when I was younger I took art class and drew a lot, and was good at it, but then at some point I stopped. Everything has inspired me to try again :).
-My friend (let's call him Henry, shall we?) is absolutely amazing. I've known that for longer than THIS year of course, but this has been an important year in my life and he's been there for me in ways no one else can. He and my mom are both my anchors, but having someone to really talk to about what is going on with my family and life and heart and soul… it is a wonderful feeling. Thanks for being there, through it all. You mean the world to me :).
-Muse is one of the most amazing bands of all time, on their albums AND LIVE (which means they have REAL talent).

8 New Recipes I Want to Try and Make by the End of the Year...
*
Cinnamon toast.
Garlic toast.
Cheese covered toast.
That isall I think I can manage… not a wizard in the kitchen, to say the very least. I'm actually kind of a hazard...

Gmail
Blogger

Pearls Before Swine (on Comics.com)

8 Projects I Need To Work On...

Filling out the Common Application
Writing my college essayS (as in there are many…)
Being a better blogger
Cleaning and organizing my room
Actually doing my homework
Finishing a new playlist
DEEP cleaning my closet and purging my clothes… ("I'm not buying you anymore clothes until you get rid of the ones that don't fit anymore")
Transferring my music to my laptop and adding/removing my pictures (organizing digital media… that sounds nerdy XD)

My Life According to Muse

I got this tag from Guin, who got it from Jane, who got it from Facebook, so I don't know where it came from originally :)

Rules:
Using only song names from ONE ARTIST, cleverly answer these questions. You can't use the band I used. Try not to repeat a song title. It's a lot harder than you think! Repost as "My life according to (band name)."

As the title suggests, I chose Muse XD.

Are you a male or female?
"Assassin"

Describe yourself:
"Map Of The Problematique"

How do you feel:
"Feelin' Good"

Describe where you currently live:
"City of Delusion"

If you could go anywhere, where would you go:
"United States of Eurasia"

Your favorite form of transportation:
"Falling Away with You"

Your best friend is:
"Guiding Light"

What's the weather like:
"Butterflies and Hurricanes"

Favorite time of day:
"Starlight"

If your life was a TV show, what would it be called:
"Ruled By Secrecy"

What is life to you:
"Stockholm Syndrome"

Your favorite color is:
"Black Out"

Your fear:
"Apocalypse Please"

Your relationship:
"I Belong To You"

What is the best advice you have to give:
"Sing for Absolution"

Thought for the Day:
"Exo-Politics"

How I would like to die:
"Invincible"

My soul's present condition:
"Uprising"

My motto:
"Time is Running Out"

I tag everyone who reads my blog and cares to try this post :)! It was a lot of fun!

What you didn't know

I dance like a fool and don't care who sees.
I say what I think if I think it’s worth saying.
I write lyrics but can't write melodies.
I love to stare at the moon and hear wolves baying.
I would die for my friends in a heartbeat.
Music is the driving force that helps move me through life.
I have a white cat who doesn't like treats.
I always try to stay strong and power straight through strife.
Zombie is one of my all-time favorite songs.
I cannot stand people who don't think for themselves.
My mom thinks my hair's too short; I think it's too long.
Sammy Keyes and Elyon books are on my bookshelf.
Reading,
Writing,
Leading,
And fighting for what I believe.
These are just a few random things,
That you didn't know about me.

Four days ago, Bleah did this tag, which I forgot about until today. You can see it here. The basic idea was 'things you don't know about me'. She said to put your own spin on it, so that's what I did (even though it is crappy) :). I tag (if you have time)...

Hope you have fun with it! (and don't forget you can do it however you want!)

What is your favorite book? Way too hard… my top ones are The Hunger Games, Runaway, The Book Thief, and Sammy Keyes and the Art of Deception… and Mara: Daughter of the Nile (had that one for years)

When was the last time you read a book? I'm in the middle of a series now

Have you read any of Jane Austen's novels? I’ve only read Pride and Prejudice, but I’ve watched most of the BBC productions of her books.

What was the last book you read? The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch

If you were to write a book, what would the plot be? “I have written a book. The plot is sort of secret, because I don't want anyone from the internet to steal it. Sorry.” I’m with Shaynie (except mine is still in the works)

How many times have you read your favorite book? Wow… upper thirties… early forties? I’ve reread my favorites of the Sammy Keyes series at least that many times… (except for Hollywood Mummy and the Curse of Mustache Mary, which I had to travel to get from another library)

Which do you prefer: reading a book, or watching TV? I prefer to read when I’m mentally present, but sometimes I’m just too tired and brain dead and want to watch TV. I hate reading a book but not processing, then having to reread the same page. I’d rather enjoy it than get frustrated with myself… lol

What book are you currently reading? The Last Apprentice: Curse of the Bane

What was the first book you ever read? (besides little learning-to-read books.) I really don’t know. I learned to read really young, and can’t really remember a specific ‘first book I read’. The first substantial book I read was The Hobbit in third grade, but I know I was a fan of the Boxcar series before that, and Junie B. Jones, so it depends on what you count as ‘learning-to-read books’ I guess :-P

This tag is for anyone who goes the library at least once a week!

1. What colour is your floor?
In my room, it is tan with some other colors kind of mixed in.
2. Look up. What's the first thing you see?
A Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center bag tacked to the wall ;)
3. What is your favourite subject?
I generally enjoy English and Writing classes, but Chemisty (and other sciences) are a little more interesting and challenging… so… it depends on the teacher :)
4. Where would you like to live? Somewhere else… I'm not sure where yet
5. What is the wackiest hairdo you've ever given a character? Living growing healing seaweed… (guess what genre THAT character was from :D)
6. Can you remember the last thing your sibling told you? Nope… LOL, right now my sibling is talking to my mom, and I don't think what I'm hearing as I eavesdrop really counts…
7. Describe the closest plant (or living green thing) to you. A palm tree kind of plant… here's a pic of it.

Now I'm supposed to make a story out of my answers... which should be difficult and entertaining...

Her slender graceful form walked across the lawn swiftly and directly. The hoodie she was waring served to hide her face, as well as her hair. She allowed herself a brief smile at the comfort; her wig always itched terribly. She stared ahead, not wishing to speak to anyone or be spoken to. It hadn't turned out well the last time she struck up a friendship... once her lies started piling up her world fell apart. No, it was better to be alone. She was here, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, for an education, NOT romance. She wanted to learn how to heal with science, as well as with her natural magic. Not that anyone needed to know about that. She found her favorite place soon enough, a small gazebo in the sun by a pond. She loved the water, her true home. Pulling out her Chemistry and English books, she took in the familiar scene. The small bench on one side of the gazebo, facing the water, a palm like plant at each end of it. She sat down and began to take notes on homonuclear diatomics when suddenly a blond, tan, fit young man sat next to her. His eyes were dark and serious, his eyebrows knitted together. She stiffened. Why is he here? I thought after that fight he'd leave me alone!!!
"What are you hiding from me?" he asked gently.
"It's complicated. And we're done, so please accept it and let me be" she said coldly. I have to be cold, or else he'll never go. I can't show that I care as much as he does...
They faced each other. He looked into her eyes, searching for something he didn't understand. All he saw was a cold wall, and slightly deeper fear. Why can't she be honest with me? Then something distracted him, a clump of hair had slipped from her hoodie. He reached and began to tuck it behind her ear, when he realized that it wasn't hair at all. It was cold, damp, brownish green seaweed. She saw something click in his eyes, and panicked. NO, he can't know!!!. She stood and grabbed her books as fast as she could, but he caught her wrist firmly and as she turned, he grabbed the other. He moved both her hands into one of his, and jerked her hood away from her face. Her head was covered in seaweed and it was moving slightly, wiggling as if it wanted to go somewhere. He followed its movement with his eyes, and saw the pond. Looking at her face again, he saw she was crying. This explains so much... he thought. The water obsession, the way she always had to plan when I came over to hang out. How she panicked when I surprised her once... she was hiding her... is it even hair? Then another thought altogether came to him.
"Do you have healing abilities?" he said with an excited puzzlement.
"Yes, I do, but how on earth did you guess that!?"
"You think I didn't pay attention during clinicals? You made all those patients feel so much better, just by talking to them. I didn't understand it, but I noticed you touched each of their hands when you spoke... and I know how much you hate physical contact. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly are you?"
He said it with a slightly bewildered smile; he wasn't afraid of the creature she was, he wasn't angry at the deception, simply eager to know more about who she really was. She laughed aloud and wiped away her tears. Is he crazy?
"Well, if you really want to know..." she hesitantly began. And then they talked about mythology and how it neglected lesser races, and talked about how she was raised, and what it felt like for her to be out of the water. He admitted that he wished she hadn't lied to him, but that he understood. And being honest with him really wasn't that bad. Maybe I don't have to be alone, she thought with a smile.

WOW I got way too into that. Sorry it was rambling, but it was fun! And did the way I put in tan feel like cheating? LOL :) I tag...
